OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION:
Responsible to President/VP-Operations for the sales and promotion of material-handling products assigned to him such as Kalmar Port and Terminal System, Sumitomo Rubber Fenders, Matsinen Harbour Cranes, Italgru Mobile Harbour Cranes, Drive Train (Axeltech, Dana & Kessler Components) and other port equipment and parts, in order to provide a superior pre-sales and post-sales services to the customers, and thus establish in the process a satisfied and very strong market base.
Responsible in coordinating with Parts Sales and Service Section in assisting the customers for the delivery of quality after-sales service.
Responsible to the President/VP-Operations for prompt collection of receivables of customers assigned to him.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Plans and prepares quarterly and annual sales forecast for the approval of the President/VP-Operations.
2.He formulates his sales strategies for President/VP-Operations’ approval.
3.Maintains above average professional competence in terms of product knowledge from a technical application and marketing aspects to win respect among end-users and suppliers
4.Exhibits and develops high degree of skills and capability to negotiate with top executives of the customers.
5.Directs his activities to meet sales targets and other objectives on a monthly basis. His primary objective is as follows:
a.He inculcates among his customers the reality of “Total Product/Portmizer Quality” concepts: Product Quality, Pre-Sales Quality and After Sales Service Quality, in order to impress upon the customer a preconceived idea of high and full satisfactory products, parts and services.
b.He understands the customer’s real needs.
c.He designs an appropriate and effective product/service custom-built handling solutions with the assistance of Service Engineer. He justifies and supports his material handling (container and bulk handling) recommendations, employing ROI concept such as life-cycle cost/Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
d.He assures customers of our commitment to provide after-sales support during warranty and post warranty period through continuous and regular visit by our technical staff.
6.Presents in writing his detailed weekly activities schedule to the President/VP-Operations not later than 8:30 on Monday morning of the same week.
7.Specifies purpose of each visit to customer and reports to superior his achievement in relation to purpose.
8.Prepares himself for each sales call by :
a.Gathering all relevant available information on the prospective customer, his operation and personnel in order to determine the best manner of sales presentation.
b.Setting up appointments with the persons to be visited.
c.Reviewing the previous activities and correspondences with the customer.
d.Familiarizing himself with comprehensive technical literature, description, previous correspondences with the customer.
e.Keeping up-to-date information on units, parts and its corresponding prices as well as on indent prices and delivery schedules.
9.Establishes contacts and develops rapport with prospective clients.
10.Develops competent relations with previous customers to improve sales output and win back customers who have been turning away or have been lost.
11.Closes sales. Submits purchase orders signed by the customers.
12.Prepares and submits to the President/VP-Operations Customer Profile and Contact Report from each visit not later than the following morning, or the day after his return from a trip outside Metro Manila.
13.Visits all customers regularly to improve probability of repeat orders.
14.Develops lead by inquiring about future projects and developments and reports these in the Customer Contact Report, ie. Bulk Handling prospects/RTG & STS refurbishments, overhauling of transmissions/gear boxes.
15.Gathers information and reports on competitor’s activities in terms of :
a.Prices and delivery time;
b.Trend of technical development;
c.Marketing strategy;
d.Deals concluded
16.Keeps himself informed about the general sales activities within the company. Reports various information of interest picked up during customer visits, meeting with salesmen of competitors, etc., cc: Sales Director.
17.Keeps abreast of the technical development of the products in his product portfolio: its applications, economic development and business in general.
18.Conforms to the established company’s rules and regulations.
Office Time: 8:00 am to 5: 00 pm
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Gender : Male or Female
Education : BS Administration or BS Marketing
Experience : 2-3 years actual experience in selling and marketing profession
Residence : Preferably Cebu or Davao
